The Oldest Continuously Operating Dragstrip in the World
The "Legendary Great Lakes Dragaway," located in the Midwest just outside Union Grove, Wisconsin, has been the place for car enthusiasts for 67 years. The oldest continuously operating dragstrip in the United States is open more dates than any other dragstrip in the United States.
Great Lakes Dragaway was built by members of local car clubs during a time when grassroots drag racing was all the craze! Most drag racing giants and known racing personalities raced here in their early years. Many regularly visit still today.
Each season, fans are treated to fun racing and professional racing in every category. Many weekends provide special events, from the "Memorial Weekend Classics" to the favorite "Time Machine Nationals" on Labor Day weekend.
The ever-exciting "Jet Spectacular - Night of Fire," July "Bugfest," "Midwest MKE Outlaw Style Racing," vintage racing and car show at its very best, "Out-a-Sight"! There is something for everyone: trucks, motorcycles, supercars, imports, and much, much more!
This track is more to its fans than just an excellent spectator show. It allows race fans to participate in the action and thrill of drag racing themselves with many events and weekly activities that enable fans to experience the exhilaration of grassroots competition. For race fans far and wide, a trip to (Da-Grove) Great Lakes Dragaway GLD Union Grove, WI, is a must. GLD is open six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday.
